PyroFast 340

The PyroFast refractory system is designed around a two-component technology incorporating a dry refractory aggregate mixed with a liquid binder. This material can be effectively mixed and placed on-site, working well for both casting and patching. After PyroFast 340 has fully cured, it has a maximum use temperature of 2910°F (1600°C).

This material is a unique phosphate-bonded high alumina refractory castable, recommended for use in aluminium applications where corrosion, thermal shock, alkali attack and high temperature are factors. Pyrotek technical specialists are available to assist in specifying the best materials for each use, applications and dryout procedures for PyroFast 340.

APPLICATIONS

  • Melting and holding furnace "belly band," lower sidewalls and hearths
  • Furnace block (subhearth)
  • Transfer crucible linings, spouts
  • Furnace ramps
  • Furnace doors, lintels, sills and jambs
  • Furnace charge / pump wells

ADVANTAGES

  • Highly abrasion resistant
  • Inhibits corundum growth
  • Fast mixing and setting
  • Quick turnaround
  • Inherently resistant to corrosion by molten aluminium alloys, without the use of non-wetting additives
  • Thermal shock resistant
  • Alkali resistant
  • High temperature tolerance
  • Bonds to most every fired refractory
