Pyrocast FS44 AL
Pyrocast FS44 AL is a medium density fused silica based castable which contains 29% SiC. It is formulated to provide improved surface finishes compared to other similar products, very good thermal shock resistance, and very low thermal conductivity when compared to other castables that contain silicon carbide. A proprietary non-wetting system offers excellent resistance to molten aluminium in high temperature continuous casting applications, and to alloys that contain high levels of Mg, Zn, and Si.
