STAR™ 1000 Degassing Unit

The STAR™ 1000 is a suspended spinning rotor degassing system designed to be suspended from an overhead hoist.  Depending on the hoist arrangement, the unit can service a fixed degassing station, or if the hoist is mounted to a rail, STAR 1000 can service multiple degassing stations. The unit requires shop air to propel the belt drive air motor and a 110 volt power source for the operation of the control cabinet's features.

Applications

  • Crucibles
  • Crucible furnaces
  • Dip-out wells
  • Bull ladles

Advantages

  • Low profile to fit under furnace hood
  • Easy to use control cabinet
  • Auto-timer and flashing light notify the operator when the cycle is complete
  • STAR 1000 can run unattended
  • Efficiently uses either nitrogen or argon
  • Substantially reduces degassing time
  • Provides repeatable results
  • Improves quality
  • Variable speed drive and inert gas flow control allows for optimum settings
  • Safety features incorporated for operator safety
  • Ruggedly constructed
  • Optional electric drive available
  • Optional voltages available to meet specific requirements
