PyroBoard HT-2 in an economical material that is perfect for one time use on new campaigns. This formulation is proven in all roll locations where the atmosphere temperature stays below 1800°F and above 800°F. Rolls should not be used inside the annealing section of a furnace. It is ideal for entry and exit of an annealing furnace or for a short preheat section blasted by furnace heat. These rolls can support 2000° F strip temperature.
PyroBoard HT-13 is a long wearing, durable, soft covering. It must be used in high heat areas in order for it to realize its full effectiveness. The heat helps to sinter the materials so that the roll surface becomes harder as it is used. This material can be used in both preheat and annealing sections of a furnace. HT-13 has shown the ability to be used in all types of furnaces that require the roll to be enclosed or in an open application as long as the atmosphere around the roll is no higher than strip temperature and does not exceed 2250°F.
PyroBoard HT-5 was developed specifically for use in the hotter zones of an annealing furnace. This material has shown excellent thermal shock properties. It can be placed directly into an operating furnace and removed without damage to the roll material, allowing the roll to be reused. This makes it ideal for use in a standby position. HT-5 is used in furnaces that require the roll to be enclosed or has an atmosphere that is higher than the strip temperature, but does not exceed 2300°F.
