CALGAS 3500

The CALGAS 3500 system combines the benefits of rotary degassing and flux injection to help improve the quality of aluminium alloys, and reduce operating costs.

In rotary degassing / fluxing systems, a metered amount of inert gas or flux is injected into the molten aluminium through a rotating graphite shaft / rotor. The rotor shears the inert gas into tiny bubbles and disperses them evenly throughout the molten metal. Unwanted hydrogen gas and non-metallic inclusions are attracted to the inert gas bubbles and rise to the surface. The flux injection allows a steady flow of flux below the metal line which promotes oxide entrapment.

Advantages

  • PLC settings provide repeatable results
  • Hydraulic lift eases rotor replacement
  • Auto-timer and flashing light notify operator when cycle is complete
  • Efficiently uses flux, nitrogen or argon
  • Variable speed drive 0~600 rpm, with digital rpm indicator
  • Inert gas flow control 0–2.5 m3/h allows for optimum settings
  • Incoming gas pressure detecting, protection function for process gas flow and tank pressure during flux injecting
  • Improves casting quality by reducing oxides and hydrogen
  • Reduces loss of flux due to submerged rotor
  • Requires minimal maintenance

Application

  • Crucibles
  • Crucible furnaces
  • Dip-out wells
  • Bull ladles
