NECO Casting Tips

Pyrotek offers a unique casting tip material specifically engineered for the production of high quality, continuous cast aluminium sheet. These tips are made from NECO material and can be used on all types of twin-roll casters. NECO material is a unique formulation of ceramic fibers bonded with an inorganic, silica binder. These tips are dimensionally stable and do not experience thermal shock or cause out-gassing.

TF (Thermally Formed) Combo Bag

Pyrotek's Rigid Combo Bag uses Pyrotek patented fiberglass fabric coating technology. At a certain temperature, the coated fabric is thermally formed and made rigid. When used on various combo bag parts, these parts can be assembled together avoiding costly sewing operations. A variety of filtration fabric openings are available with this new coating, as well as new low-cost dense fiberglass fabrics.

Heated Cover Systems

Heated cover systems incorporate heaters as modules in trough cover sections, furnace lids, crucibles, filter boxes, low pressure diecast covers, holders, etc. Heated covers allow for the preheat of refractories prior to the introduction of metal, to retain the metal’s heat during transfer, and to hold the molten metal at temperature during periods of inactivity. In addition, the heated cover system keeps refractory surfaces hot, thus avoiding refractory thermal shock.

RFM® Control Pins

RFM® control pins are a unique patented technology from Pyrotek. Traditionally, control pins are manufactured as solid rods from various materials. Unless thorough preheating is applied, the control pin can become a heat sink and sometimes lead to problems at start up. Because the RFM control pin is manufactured as a tube, the material mass is greatly reduced. In addition, the control pin further benefits from the unique thin wall properties offered by RFM technology.
